Day 01
Land and sea transfer from accommodations in El Nido going to Patuyo Island – expected travel time is 5 hours. Pick up time in front of your Spin Designer Hostel at 08:00 AM
After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from your hostel and driven north for about an hour, where a boat awaits to take you to the Linapacan island group, of which Patuyo Island is a part. The islands are surrounded by the clearest water and the most beautiful untouched beaches. You will stay in native bungalows or camping tents.
Day 02
Grab your snorkeling gear and immerse yourself in the enchanting and magical world beneath the surface. Today, you will explore underwater life. The coral reefs in Linapacan are secluded, making them rich in biodiversity, including common sightings of sea turtles. During the trip, you’ll pass by the pristine beaches at Spanish Port until you reach the entrance to Señora Cave. Here, you’ll witness stunning limestone formations and stalactite caves. Lunch will be a beach BBQ, after which you’ll have time to explore the protected marine reserve before returning to camp.
Day 03
For the early risers, there’s an opportunity to start the day with a fishing trip with local fishermen, usually starting at 5:00 AM. You may be rewarded with a beautiful sunrise accompanied by the sounds of a tropical island slowly waking up. Most mornings, you might also spot dolphins and sea turtles from the boat. However, it’s important to note that there are no guarantees.
After breakfast, it’s time to explore your island and discover its natural beauty and wildlife. The tour will be at your own pace, but since it’s a tropical island, it can get very hot, and the terrain can be challenging at times. It’s essential to wear comfortable and practical footwear and carry a couple of bottles of water.
Day 04
Today, there’s a leisurely morning allowing you to enjoy breakfast at your own pace. Afterward, you’ll head to San Miguel, a small quiet town just a 10-minute boat ride from the island. Here, you’ll pass by the local school to see if it’s a school day. There might be an arranged basketball game or volleyball match with the locals. You might even have the opportunity to take over an hour of teaching. These activities will be planned based on the feasibility with the local school and may vary from trip to trip.
The afternoon is free for you to use as you wish, whether it’s a swim in the ocean or a hike in the wilderness.
Day 05
After hopefully memorable days on Patuyo Island, far from the stresses of everyday life, it’s time to move on. Early in the morning, you will be sailed back to the mainland and driven back to El Nido, from where you can further explore the Philippines on your own.
Important: There is no ATM machines or banks in Linapacan. Transactions is strictly cash only, so make sure you bring enough cash to cover your needs. USD is NOT recommended.
